Inspection Procedure 8: Brightness decreases.
 
 
cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the ground circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
When the brightness decreases, the ambient temperature of the HUD (temperature sensor) may be high (e.g. leaving the vehicle under the scorching sun).
noteBy checking the Event record (item No.1 Odometer) using the special function of the HUD, you can check the component protection history of the HUD (refer to ).
 
 
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Protection function due to the internal high temperature state of the HUD is working.
  • The HUD (temperature sensor) may be defective
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
Retest the system
(1) After moving the vehicle to an indoor place, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (OFF) position and leave it until the HUD (temperature sensor) reaches the temperature at which it operates normally (for 15 to 30 minutes as a guide).
Is the check result normal?
A component protection has been triggered. This is not a malfunction.
Replace the HUD.
