DTC C1517 Failure action of torque sensor signal
 
 
caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect DTC may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C, CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
  • Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
 
 
OPERATION
The microcomputer performs arithmetic processing on the signal input from the torque sensor.
 
 
 
FUNCTION
When it is determined that the signal input to the EPS-ECU or the calculation process is abnormal.
 
 
 
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Conditions
  • Engine start
Judgment Criterion
  • When it is determined that there is an abnormality in the output signal of each torque sensor.
Fail Safe, Back Up Function
  • The EPS-ECU is in motor control output limit state, turns on the electric steering warning display, and sets DTC C1517.
