ELECTRONIC CONTROL COUPLING OPERATION CHECK <AWD>

Before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (OFF) position.

Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) to the data link connector (Refer to

2. Start the engine.

3. Position the steering wheel in a straight ahead direction.

4. Execute "Test" (item No. 3: Center coupling operation check) on scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) special function to activate the electronic-controlled coupling.

note

The forced activation (item No. 3: Center coupling operation check) is continued for 1 minute, then it will be cancelled automatically. Also, using the clear key on the scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), the activation can be forcibly cancelled.
When the functions are suspended by the fail-safe function, the electronic control coupling cannot be forcibly activated.

5. Turn the steering wheel 360° or more clockwise or counterclockwise, move the selector lever to the D range (1st), and start the vehicle slowly. The vehicle should hesitate to move. This phenomenon is called as "tight corner braking".

note	The occurrence level of the body vibration and noise depends on the condition of tires and roads. If the tight corner braking does not occur, the system may have abnormality. Check the AWC-ECU.
