DTC U1417: Wrong coding data received
 
 
 
 
Diagnostic function
TCM checks that the coding information is normal.
 
 
JUDGMENT CRITERIA
The ETACS-ECU coding information about whether the AWD-ECU is mounted or not is incorrect.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of CAN bus line
  • ETACS-ECU coding information is abnormal
  • ETACS-ECU failure or improper assembly
  • Malfunction of TCM
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) CAN bus diagnostics.
Use the scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) to diagnose the CAN bus lines.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - Diagnosis, CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ), and then go to Step 2.
 
STEP 2. Symptom recheck after erasing diagnostic trouble code.
Is the diagnostic trouble code set?
Go to Step 3.
The inspection is complete.
 
STEP 3. Scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) diagnostic trouble code.
Check if the ETACS-related diagnostic trouble code is set.
Is the ETACS-related diagnostic trouble code set?
Carry out the appropriate troubleshooting.
Go to Step 4.
 
STEP 4. ETACS-ECU coding data check.
Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check if any abnormality is present in the coding data below which is set in the ETACS-ECU.
Final drive
  • OK: FWD <FWD>
  • OK: AWD <AWD>
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
 
STEP 5. Symptom recheck after erasing diagnostic trouble code.
Is the diagnostic trouble code set?
Replace TCM.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
