caution | - If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
- Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
|
OPERATION
The signals from the ETACS-ECU are sent to the EPS-ECU.
DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE SET CONDITION
EPS-ECU receives the fault detect enable data from the ETACS-ECU via CAN bus lines. If the EPS-ECU cannot receive the fault detect enable data from the ETACS-ECU, DTC U1190 will be set.
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
EPS-ECU receives the fault detect enable data from the ETACS-ECU via CAN bus lines. If the EPS-ECU cannot receive the fault detect enable data from the ETACS-ECU for 5 seconds since the ignition switch is turned from "LOOK" (OFF) to "ON" position, DTC U1190 will be set.
COMMENT ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
Current trouble
- The ETACS-ECU fault detect enable, ETACS-ECU itself, or EPS-ECU itself may be faulty.
Past trouble
- Carry out diagnosis with particular emphasis on wiring harness and connectors relevant to the ETACS-ECU. For diagnosis procedures, refer to "How to Cope with Historic Trouble" (GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Treat Past Trouble ).
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of CAN bus line
- Defective harness wire(s) or connector(s)
- Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
- Malfunction of the EPS-ECU
