DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE SET CONDITION
This code is set when the air mixing damper control motor potentiometer does not send any signal to the A/C-ECU due to short or open circuit.
 
 
 
POSSIBLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the air mixing damper control motor and potentiometer
  • Damaged the wiring harness or connectors
  • Malfunction of the auto A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU)
 
 
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check data list.
Check that the following service data display contents are normal. (Refer to ).
Item No.63: Air mix potentiometer
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 2.
 
STEP 2. Check open and short circuit in SENB, A/MP and SENG line between air mixing damper control motor and potentiometer connector (potentiometer side) and auto A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU) connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
 
STEP 3. Check the air mixing damper control motor and potentiometer.
Refer to .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Replace the air mixing damper control motor and potentiometer.
 
STEP 4. Check whether the diagnostic trouble code is set again.
Is the diagnostic trouble code set?
Replace the auto A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
