Before replacing the combination meter, be sure to check that the power supply circuit, ground circuit, and communication circuit are normal.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
When the washer fluid level warning light does not illuminate, the washer fluid level sensor circuit, the washer fluid level sensor may be faulty.
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
The washer fluid level sensor circuit may be faulty.
The combination meter may be faulty.
The wiring harness or connectors may have loose, corroded, or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.
DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
MB991223: Harness Set
MB992006: Extra Fine Probe
STEP 1. Check the washer fluid level sensor.
Refer to GROUP 51 - Inspection, Washer Fluid Level Sensor Check

Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2
.
Replace the washer fluid level sensor.
STEP 2. Resistance measurement at the washer fluid level sensor connector.

Disconnect the washer fluid level sensor connector, the measure at the harness side.
(2)
Measure the resistance between the washer fluid level sensor connector (ground terminal) and ground.
OK: The resistance should be 2 ohms or less.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

STEP 3. Check of open circuit in ground line between the washer fluid level sensor connector and ground.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 4. Check of open circuit in WASH line between the combination meter connector and the washer fluid level sensor connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5
.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 5. Retest the system.
Check that the washer fluid level warning light illuminate normally.
Is the check result normal?
The procedure is complete.
Replace the combination meter.
