TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
An open circuit or short to ground is detected consecutively five times when radio waves are sent from the outside transmission antenna assembly (driver's side).

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the outside transmission antenna assembly (driver's side)
  • Malfunction of the KOS&OSS-ECU
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Check of short to power supply, short to ground, and open circuit in EDRP, EDRG line between the outside transmission antenna assembly (driver's side) connector and the KOS&OSS-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 2. Keyless operation system communication test.
Check that the communication with the outside transmission antenna assembly (driver's side) is normal (Refer to Antenna Test ).
  • DR side antenna (outdoor)
OK: Normal is displayed.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Replace the outside transmission antenna assembly (driver's side).

STEP 3. Check whether the diagnosis trouble code is set again.
(1) Erase the DTC.
(2) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to "OFF".
(3) Close all the doors and press the driver's door lock/unlock switch to lock and unlock the door several times.
(4) Check if the DTC is set.
Is the DTC set?
Replace KOS&OSS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ).
Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Deal with Intermittent Malfunction ).
