REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
 
 
warningBe careful not to subject the SRS-ECU to any shocks during removal and installation of the transaxle control cable assembly.
Post-installation operation
  • Shift lock mechanism check (Refer to .)

Selector lever assembly removal steps
Move the selector lever to the "N" position.

Transaxle control cable assembly removal steps
Move the selector lever to the "N" position.

<<A>> CLIP REMOVAL
1. Push up the claws of the clip using a screwdriver, etc., and then remove the clip from the bracket together with the transaxle control cable.
 
 

 
 
INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

 
 
>>A<< CLIP/TRANSAXLE CONTROL CABLE (TRANSAXLE SIDE) INSTALLATION
1.
cautionSecurely insert the clip, and transaxle control cable until they click into place.
After installing the new clip to the cable bracket of the transaxle, install the transaxle control cable to the cable bracket.
noteThe clip is reversible.
2. Move the selector lever and manual control lever to the "N" position.

caution
  • Confirm that the width across flats of the cable end, matches a long hole of manual control lever.
  • Before assembling between a manual control lever and an cable end of transaxle control cable, release taking a hold on an cable end once, and it's surely confirmed that it doesn't take tension on.
Use the adjusting nut to tighten the transaxle control cable to the specified torque.
Tightening torque:
9.5 ± 3.5 N·m (84 ± 30 in-lb)
