DTC B2352: Antenna fail

cautionWhen replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.

DTC SET CONDITION
If an open circuit or short to ground occurs in the key slot, KOS-ECU stores DTC B2352.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
When the engine switch power supply mode is set from OFF to ON or the driver’s door is opened with the engine switch power supply mode at OFF after the battery-discharged keyless operation key is inserted into the key slot, the KOS-ECU will send a signal to the key slot. Then the key slot will send a code to the keyless operation key via its antenna. If the KOS-ECU detects open circuit or short circuit to ground consecutively four times during the operation above, the ECU will store this diagnostic trouble code.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
  • Malfunction of the key slot
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors
  • Malfunction of KOS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Key slot check
Remove the key slot (Refer to key slot ).
(1)

Terminal numberNormal value
1 - 212 ± 4 Ω
Is the key slot normal?
Go to Step 2.
Replace the key slot

STEP 2. Check of short to power supply, short to ground, and open circuit in ANTP, ANTG line between the key slot connector and the KOS-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 3. Recheck for diagnostic trouble code.
Check again if the DTC is stored in the KOS-ECU.
(1) Open the driver's door.
(2) Erase the DTC.
(3) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch from OFF to ON.
(4) Check if DTC is stored.
(5) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to OFF.
Is the DTC stored?
Replace KOS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ).
The diagnosis is complete.
