STEP 2. Check of keyless operation key registration method
STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T-III), diagnose the CAN bus line.
(1) caution | To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T-III), always turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to the OFF position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T-III). |
Connect scan tool (M.U.T-III). Refer to "How to connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III)
."
(2) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to ON.
(3) Diagnose the CAN bus line.
(4) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to OFF.
Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?
Go to Step 4. Repair the CAN bus line. (Refer to GROUP 54C, Diagnosis ).
STEP 4. Using scan tool (M.U.T-III), read the diagnostic trouble code.
(1) caution | To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T-III), always turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to the OFF position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T-III). |
Connect scan tool (M.U.T-III). Refer to "How to connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III)

(2) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to ON.
(3) Check if any DTC is stored in the KOS-ECU.
(4) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to OFF.
Is the DTC stored?
Refer to diagnostic trouble code chart . Go to Step 5.
STEP 5. Using scan tool (M.U.T-III), read the other system diagnostic trouble code.
(1) caution | To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T-III), always turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to the OFF position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T-III). |
Connect scan tool (M.U.T-III). Refer to "How to connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III)
."
(2) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to ON.
(3) Check if any DTC is stored in the OSS-ECU.
(4) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to OFF.
Is the DTC stored?
Perform troubleshooting for the OSS-ECU (Refer to diagnostic trouble code chart ). On completion, go to Step 6. Go to Step 6.
STEP 6. Replace the battery in the keyless operation key and recheck the diagnostic trouble code.
Replace the battery of the keyless operation key for which the DTC is stored, and check whether the DTC is stored again.(1) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch from OFF to ON.
(2) Check if the DTC is stored.
Is the DTC stored?
Go to Step 7. The procedure is complete (Discharged battery).
STEP 7. Replace the keyless operation key and recheck the diagnostic trouble code.
Replace the keyless operation key for which the DTC is stored with a new one, register the encrypted code and keyless operation key ID (refer to ), and check whether the DTC is stored again.(1) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch from OFF to ON.
(2) Check if the DTC is stored.
Is the DTC stored?
Go to Step 8. The procedure is complete.
STEP 8. Check whether the diagnostic trouble code is stored again.
(1) Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch from OFF to ON.
(2) Check if the DTC is stored.
Is the DTC stored?
Replace KOS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ). The procedure is complete.
