DTC P1607: Malfunction of the System Power Supply (low voltage)

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
The TCM determines that the system is defective if too low battery voltage is supplied to the TCM (open circuit in the power supply circuit).

DESCRIPTIONS OF MONITOR METHODS
The voltage, which is applied to the solenoid valve, is abnormal.

MONITOR EXECUTION
  • Ignition switch (IG1) line voltage: 11 volts or more.

MONITOR EXECUTION CONDITIONS (OTHER MONITOR AND SENSOR)
Other Monitor (There is no temporary DTC stored in memory for the item monitored below)
  • Not applicable
Sensor (The sensor below is determined to be normal)
  • Not applicable

LOGIC FLOW CHARTS (Monitor Sequence)

DTC SET CONDITIONS
Check Conditions
  • System voltage (IG1 line voltage): 11 volts or more.
Judgment Criteria
  • The solenoid power supply voltage (battery line voltage) remains less than 8.0 V for 0.2 seconds.

OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE PATTERN
Ignition switch: ON (start the engine and keep it for 10 seconds or more)

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors

DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnostic trouble code
Check whether a diagnostic trouble code other than P1607 is stored.
Is diagnostic trouble code stored?
Carry out the appropriate troubleshooting.
Repair the connector(s) or the wiring harness (BATT, BAT2 line between the TCM connector and the battery).
