When recognizing an engine start, the combination meter controls the following items for producing the effect.

Speedometer
Powermeter
Information display
Meter illumination

Meter and Illumination Operations During READY ON Effect

The combination meter controls the following items during the Plug-in Hybrid EV system start effect.

Plug-in Hybrid EV System Start Judgment

The combination meter judges “Plug-in Hybrid EV system start” and activates the Plug-in Hybrid EV system start effect only once when the following operational conditions are all satisfied.

Operational condition
Electric motor switch	ON
Vehicle status	READY
Vehicle speed	Less than 1 km/h (0.6 MPH)
Setting (Integral switch)	The setting of “Welcome Effect” is “On”

note	The Plug-in Hybrid EV system start effect exits when any of the above operational conditions is cancelled during the Plug-in Hybrid EV system start effect.

Signal Path

The combination meter judges “Plug-in Hybrid EV system start”, according to the following signals and activates the Plug-in Hybrid EV system start effect function.
