Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK AMBIENT SENSOR SIGNAL
  1. Turn electric motor switch ON.
  2. Check voltage between combination meter harness connector terminal and ground.

2.CHECK AMBIENT SENSOR POWER SUPPLY
  1. Turn electric motor switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect ambient sensor connector.
  3. Turn electric motor switch ON.
  4. Check voltage between ambient sensor harness connector and ground.

3.CHECK AMBIENT SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN
  1. Turn electric motor switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect combination meter connector.
  3. Check continuity between ambient sensor harness connector and A/C auto amp harness connector.

4.CHECK AMBIENT SENSOR
Check ambient sensor. Refer to Component Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
Replace combination meter Refer to Removal and Installation.
Replace ambient sensor. Refer to Removal and InstallationRemoval and Installation.
 
5.CHECK AMBIENT SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR OPEN
  1. Turn electric motor switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect combination meter connector.
  3. Check continuity between ambient sensor harness connector and combination meter harness connector.

6.CHECK AMBIENT SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR SHORT
Check continuity between ambient sensor harness connector and ground.

7.CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent IncidentHOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS.

Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.
