Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK AIMING MOTOR DRIVE SIGNAL
  1. Electric motor switch is OFF.
  2. Lighting switch 2ND.
  3. Select “Actuator Test” mode of “IPDM E/R” using M.U.T.-III SE.
  4. Check the voltage between the IPDM E/R harness connector and body ground when the test item "OPTIC AXIS ACTUATOR TEST" is operated.

2.CHECK AIMING MOTOR DRIVE SIGNAL CIRCUIT (OPEN CIRCUIT)
  1. Electric motor switch is OFF.
  2. Lighting switch AUTO.
  3. Disconnect IPDM E/R connector and headlight connector.
  4. Check continuity between the IPDM E/R harness connector and the headlight harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

Repair or replace harness.
 
3.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
  1. Electric motor switch is OFF.
  2. Lighting switch AUTO.
  3. Connect IPDM E/R and headlight connector.
  4. Electric motor switch is ON.
  5. Select “Diagnostic Trouble Code” mode of “IPDM E/R” using M.U.T.-III SE.
  6. Erase DTC.
  7. Electric motor switch is OFF.
  8. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE. Refer toDTC Description.
Is DTC detected?

4.REPLACE HEADLIGHT
  1. Replace headlight. Refer toRemoval and Installation.
  2. Electric motor switch is ON.
  3. Select “Diagnostic Trouble Code” mode of “IPDM E/R” using M.U.T.-III SE.
  4. Erase DTC.
  5. Electric motor switch is OFF.
  6. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE. Refer toDTC Description.
Is DTC detected?
Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to Removal and Installation.
