System Description

SYSTEM DIAGRAM

Component	Function
Door switch	Detects the door condition (open or close), and inputs the door switch signal to BCM.
Door lock and unlock switch	Transmits the door lock and unlock switch signal to BCM from door lock and unlock switch operation.
Unlock sensor	Detects the front door lock (driver side) condition, and inputs the unlock sensor signal to BCM.
Keyless operation key	Transmits the door lock/unlock signal to Keyless operation key unit from door lock/unlock button operation.
Door request switch	Detects the door lock/unlock operation from outside of the vehicle, and transmits the door request switch signal to Keyless operation key unit.
BCM	Controls the interior room light relay, and turns the each interior room light ON/OFF.
Keyless operation key unit	Transmits the door lock/unlock request signal to BCM (via CAN communication). Turns the push-button Electric motor switch illumination ON/OFF.
Interior room light relay	Interior room light relay supplies power supply voltage to each interior room light according to the control signal from BCM.

OUTLINE

Following interior room lights are controlled by interior room light timer control function of BCM.
- Map light*
- Personal light*
- Room light*
Mood light is controlled by mood light control function of BCM.
Luggage room light is controlled by luggage room light control function of BCM.
Push-button Electric motor switch illumination is controlled by push-button Electric motor switch illumination control function of Keyless operation key unit.

*: Interior room light timer control operates when the switch position is DOOR.

INTERIOR ROOM LIGHT TIMER CONTROL

Interior Room Light Timer Basic Operation

Interior room lights turn ON and OFF (gradual brightening and dimming) by the interior room light timer.
Timer operating time is 20 seconds.
Brightening time is 2.8 second and dimming time is 1.5 seconds.
BCM judges the vehicle condition with the following items and activates the interior room light timer.
- Electric motor switch status
- Door switch signal
- Door lock and unlock switch signal
- Unlock sensor signal
- Door lock/unlock signal
- Door lock/unlock request signal

Interior Room Light ON Operation

BCM always turns the interior room light relay ON to turn on interior room light when any door opens (except back door).
BCM activates interior room light timer in any of the following condition to turn interior room light ON for a period of time.
- Status of all doors are OPEN –> CLOSE
- Electric motor switch is turned engine running –> OFF
- Door unlock signal is detected when all doors close with electric motor switch OFF

note	The timer restarts if new condition is input during the timer operating time.

Interior Room Light OFF Operation

BCM stops the timer in any of the following condition to turn the interior room light OFF.

The timer operating time is expired
Electric motor switch is turned OFF –> engine running
Door lock signal is detected when all doors close with electric motor switch OFF

MOOD LIGHT CONTROL

BCM turns the mood light ON when any door (except back door) opens or any door unlock (except back door).
BCM turns dimming operation of the mood light when engine running.
BCM turns the mood light OFF when door lock.

LUGGAGE ROOM LIGHT CONTROL

BCM turns the luggage room light ON when back door is open (back door switch is ON).
BCM turns the luggage room light OFF when back door is close (back door switch is OFF).

PUSH-BUTTON ELECTRIC MOTER SWITCH ILLUMINATION CONTROL

BCM turns the push-button electric motor switch illumination ON when electric motor switch is ON.
BCM turns the push-button electric motor switch illumination OFF when electric motor switch is OFF.
