THE FUEL FILLER LID LOCK LOCKING OPERATION DOES NOT WORK.
 
 
 
 
COMMENTS REGARDING FAULT PHENOMENA
If the fuel filler lid lock locking operation does not work, there is a possibility of a mechanical fault in the fuel filler lid release actuator or fault in the fuel filler lid.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Faulty fuel filler lid release actuator (damage, malfunction)
  • Faulty installation of the fuel filler lid release actuator
  • Deformation of the fuel filler lid fitting position
 
 
1.INSPECT THE FUEL FILLER LID LOCK SENSOR
Perform the following inspection on the fuel filler lid lock sensor.
1. Check that there is no damage or deformation of the fuel filler lid lock sensor rod.
2. Check that the projection of the fuel filler lid lock sensor rod from the fuel filler lid assembly is approximately 17.6 mm (0.69 inch).

4. Check the orientation of the fuel filler lid lock sensor rod.

6. Press the fuel filler lid lock sensor rod with a finger, and check that the rod returns to its original position when you remove your finger.
Is the inspection result normal?
Replace and correctly install the fuel filler lid lock sensor.
 
2.INSPECT THE INSTALLATION CONDITION OF THE FUEL FILLER LID RELEASE ACTUATOR
Is the inspection result normal?
Replace and correctly install the fuel filler lid release actuator.
 
3.INSPECT THE INSTALLATION CONDITION OF THE FUEL FILLER LID
noteWhen the fuel filler lid release actuator is pressed, the fuel filler lid cannot be closed. If it is pressed, press the fuel filler lid opener switch again.
Is the inspection result normal?
It is possible that the fuel filler lid lock is deformed, so check it then either repair or replace it.
Correctly install the fuel filler lid.
