DTC Detection Condition
U214E-81CAN comm err (combination meter)
[Controller area network communication error (combination meter)]
Diagnosis conditionWhen electric motor switch is ON.
Signal (terminal)CAN communication signal
ThresholdIf air bag diagnosis sensor unit detects an error signal that is received from combination meter via CAN communication
Diagnosis delay time2 seconds or more.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.CHECK DTC PRIORITY
If DTC U214E-81 is displayed with Network-DTC, first perform the trouble diagnosis for Network-DTC.
Is applicable DTC detected?
Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC IndexDTC Index.

2.CHECK DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE RESULT
With M.U.T.-III SE
  1. Electric motor switch ON.
  2. Perform "Diagnostic Trouble Code" mode of "AIR BAG" using M.U.T.-III SE.
Is malfunctioning part detected?
Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
