Removal and Installation
 
 
REMOVAL
caution
  • Do not spill or splash the brake fluid. The brake fluid may damage the painting surface. If the brake fluid is attached to the painting surface, wipe it off immediately and wash out with water. Do not wash the brake components with water.
  • Never depress the brake pedal while removing the brake hose or brake tube. If this is not complied with, brake fluid may splash.
 
 
1. Remove the tire
2. Drain the brake fluid. Refer to Draining.
3. Loosen the flare nut with a flare nut wrench (A) and disconnect the brake tube from the brake hose .
caution
  • Do not damage the flare nut and brake tube.
  • Do not severely bend, twist, strongly pull out the brake hose and tube.
  • When removing, cover the opening of the brake tube and hose to prevent dust from getting inside.
4. Remove the union bolt and copper washer , and remove the brake hose from the brake caliper assembly.
5. Remove the lock plate and remove the brake hose.
 
 
INSTALLATION
caution
  • Do not spill or splash the brake fluid. The brake fluid may damage the painting surface. If the brake fluid is attached to the painting surface, wipe it off immediately and wash out with water. Do not wash the brake components with water.
  • Never depress the brake pedal while removing the brake hose or brake tube. If this is not complied with, brake fluid may splash.
  • Do not let the foreign matter (dust etc.) and oil other than brake fluid to get inside the reservoir tank.
 
 
1. Install the union bolt and copper washer to the brake hose.
cautionDo not reuse the copper washer.
2. Align the brake hose pin and protrusion of the brake caliper assembly , then tighten the union bolt to the specified torque.
3. Install the brake tube to the brake hose , and temporarily tighten the flare nut by hands until it stops rotating, then secure the brake hose to the bracket with the lock plate .
cautionCheck that all the brake hoses and brake tubes are not twisted or bent.
4. Using a crow's-foot (A) and torque wrench (B), tighten the flare nut to the specified torque.
cautionDo not damage the flare nut and brake tube.
5. Change the brake fluid with new fluid, then perform air-bleeding. Refer to Bleeding Brake System.
cautionNever reuse the drained brake fluid.
6. Install tires. Refer to Removal and Installation.
7. Perform inspection after installation. Refer to Inspection.
