Other Monitor (There is no temporary DTC set in memory for the item monitored below)
  • BMU monitor
Sensor (The sensor below is determined to be normal)
  • Drive battery temperature sensor
 
 
DTC SET CONDITIONS

Check Condition
  • The BMU power supply voltage is more than 7.578 volts.
Judgment Criterion
  • The maximum temperature is 67°C (153°F) or more (0.81 volts or more) for 4.6 seconds or more.

  • Malfunction of the drive battery cooling system
  • Malfunction of the drive battery module temperature sensor
  • Malfunction of the drive battery
noteThe DTC No. P0A7E-00 may be set when the drive battery is charged/discharged excessively.
 
 
DIAGNOSIS
Required Special Tools:
  • MB992744: Vehicle communication interface-Lite (V.C.I.-Lite)
  • MB992745: V.C.I.-Lite main harness A
  • MB992747: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable short
  • MB992748: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable long
1.Check whether the DTC is set in PHEV A/C amplifier.
Check whether the PHEV A/C amplifier sets the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the set DTC (Refer to Heater & Air Conditioning System - PHEV A/C Amplifier DTC Index) . Then,
 
2.Check of other DTC
Check whether the BMU and BMU2 set the following DTC.
  • DTC No. P0A9C-00: Temperature Sensor 1 Characteristic Diagnosis
  • DTC No. P0AC6-00 Temperature Sensor 2 Characteristic Diagnosis
  • DTC No. P0ACB-00 Temperature Sensor 3 Characteristic Diagnosis
  • DTC No. P0AE9-00 Temperature Sensor 4 Characteristic Diagnosis
  • DTC No. P0C6E-00 Temperature Difference 1-2 Diagnosis
  • DTC No. P0C6F-00 Temperature Difference 2-4 Diagnosis
  • DTC No. P0C70-00 Temperature Difference 4-1 Diagnosis
  • DTC No. P0C71-00 Temperature Difference 3-1 Diagnosis
  • DTC No. P0C72-00 Temperature Difference 2-3 Diagnosis
  • DTC No. P0C86-00 Temperature Difference 4-3 Diagnosis
  • DTC No. P0A1F-00 ECU Internal Failure
  • DTC No. P0EEC-00: ECU Internal Failure
Is the DTC set?
Troubleshoot the set DTCs (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART). Then,
 
3.M.U.T.-IIISE freeze frame data check
Using the M.U.T.-IIISE, check the following BMU freeze frame data.
  • Item No. 1250: Battery Temperature1
  • Item No. 1270: Battery Temperature2
  • Item No. 1310: Battery Temperature4
OK: All items are 55°C (131°F) or less.
Is the check result normal?
Disassemble the drive battery (Refer to SERVICE PROCEDURE). After the disassembly, replace the battery temperature sensor No. 1, 2 or 4. Then,
Replace the drive battery (Refer to DRIVE BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION). Then,
 
4.Test the OBD-II drive cycle.
(1) Carry out a test drive with the drive cycle pattern. Refer to OBD-II Drive Cycle OBD-II DRIVE CYCLE.
(2) Check the DTC.
Is the DTC set?
Retry the troubleshooting.
The procedure is complete.
