DTC Description
 
 
CAN COMMUNICATION
  • CAN communication is a multiplex communication system. This enables the system to transmit and receive large quantities of data at high speed by connecting control units with 2 communication lines.
  • CAN communication lines adopt twisted-pair line style (two lines twisted) for noise immunity.

U2141 83 CAN comm err (TCM)
[Controller area network communication error (Transmission control module)]
Diagnosis condition
  • When engine is running
  • When AEB system is ON
Signal (terminal) CAN communication signal
Threshold If distance sensor is not transmitting or receiving CAN communication signal
Diagnosis delay time 2 seconds or more
 
 
POSSIBLE CAUSE
CAN communication system
 
 
FAIL-SAFE
The following systems are canceled.
  • Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode
  • Conventional (fixed speed) cruise control mode
  • Steering wheel assistance function
  • AEB
  • PFCW
 
 
CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Turn the AEB system ON.
  3. Perform “Read All DTCs” with M.U.T.-III SE.
  4. Check if the “U2141-83” is detected as the current malfunction in “Self Diagnostic Result” of “LASER/RADAR”.
Is “U2141-83” detected as the current malfunction?
