DTC detection condition
P074200TORQUE CONVERTER
(Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Stuck On)
Diagnosis conditionWhen all of the following conditions are satisfied:
  • TCM power supply voltage: More than 11 V
  • Range: D (Except for Manual mode)
  • Accelerator pedal position : 10 deg. or more
  • Engine speed: 450 rpm or more
  • LU pressure: Less than –0.1 MPa and this state is maintained for 5 seconds
  • Secondary pulley seed: more than 0 rpm and less than 2470 rpm
Signal
ThresholdDifferences between engine speed and input speed: 40 rpm or less.
Diagnosis delay time5 seconds
 
 
POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • Harness or connector (Torque converter clutch solenoid valve circuit is shorted to power supply)
  • Torque converter clutch solenoid valve
  • Torque converter
  • Control valve
 
 
FAIL-SAFE
  • Start is slow
  • Engine stops when shift to “D” position during stopping the vehicle.
 
 
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
cautionAlways drive vehicle at a safe speed.
1.PRECONDITIONING
If “DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE” is previously conducted, always the ignition switch is OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before performing the next test.

2.CHECK DTC DETECTION
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Maintain the following conditions for 5 seconds or more.
    cautionAlways drive at a safe speed.
    Shift position: “D” position
    Accelerator pedal position: 1.0/8 or more
    Vehicle speed: 1 - 15 km/h (0.6 - 9 MPH)
    Brake pedal: Depress*
    *: Keep depressing the brake pedal moderately not to accelerate the vehicle.
  3. Check the first trip DTC.
