DTC Description
This diagnosis result is detected when the fuel level of the fuel tank is extremely low and the engine does not run normally.

DTC DETECTION LOGIC
DTCM.U.T.-III SE screen terms
(Trouble diagnosis content)
DTC detection condition
P119700FUEL RUN OUT
(Out of gas)
ADiagnosis condition
Signal (terminal)Fuel rail pressure sensor signal
ThresholdFuel rail pressure remains at 1.1 MPa (11 bar, 11.2 kg/cm2, 159.5 psi) or less with the fuel level too low
Diagnosis delay time5 seconds or more
BDiagnosis condition
Signal (terminal)Fuel rail pressure sensor signal
ThresholdFuel rail pressure remains 2.7 MPa (27 bar, 27.5 kg/cm2, 392 psi) lower than a target fuel pressure with the fuel level too low
Diagnosis delay time5 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • Fuel cut
  • Harness or connectors (Fuel pump circuit is open or shorted.)
    • Fuel pump circuit is open or shorted.
    • High pressure fuel pump circuit is open or shorted.
    • High pressure fuel pump relay circuit
  • Fuel pump
  • Fuel pressure regulator
  • Fuel pump system
  • High pressure fuel pump
  • High pressure fuel pump system
  • High pressure fuel pump relay
  • Fuel rail pressure sensor
  • Hose disconnection

FAIL-SAFE
Engine operating condition in fail-safe mode
Fail safe modeVehicle behavior
Device fix mode
  • This mode fixes the electric IVT motor and the EVT control solenoid valve in the reference position.
  • The intake manifold runner control valve motor is turned OFF (intake manifold runner control valve opens).
  • A control signals is not transmitted to EGR volume control valve and the EGR volume control is deactivated.

DTC Confirmation Procedure
1.PRECONDITIONING
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
  2. Turn ignition switch ON.
  3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
TESTING CONDITION:
Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 11 V at idle.
: .

2.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-1
Start the engine.
Does the engine start?
.
Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

3.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-2
  1. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
noteFor best results, warm up the engine until “COOLANT TEMP/S” on “DATA MONITOR” mode of “ENGINE” using M.U.T.-III SE reaches at least 70°C (158°F).
  2. Keep the engine speed at 3,500 rpm for 5 seconds and let it idle at least 1 minute.
  3. Check 1st trip DTC.
noteIf the fuel tank has sufficient fuel, this diagnosis result may not be detected.
Is 1st trip DTC detected?
Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
