DTC detection condition
P045100Barometric pressure sensor A/B
(EVAP System Pressure Sensor/Switch "A" Circuit Range/Performance
Diagnosis condition—
Signal (terminal)EVAP control system pressure sensor signal
ThresholdECM detects a state that the pressure difference remains the threshold value or more for continuously for 5 seconds or more under the condition that the pressure of the EVAP control system pressure sensor and that of the ECM (built-in barometric pressure sensor) are equal.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • Harness or connectors (EVAP control system pressure sensor circuit is shorted.)
  • EVAP control system pressure sensor
  • ECM (built-in barometric pressure sensor)
 
 
FAIL-SAFE

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
noteNever remove fuel filler cap during DTC confirmation procedure.
1.CHECK DTC PRIORITY
If DTC P0451 is displayed with other DTC, first perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for other DTC.
Is applicable DTC detected?
Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Index

2.PRECONDITIONING
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
  2. Turn ignition switch ON.
  3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

3.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
  1. Turn ignition switch ON.
  2. Check 1st trip DTC.
Is DTC detected?
Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

4.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-II
With M.U.T.-III SE
  1. On M.U.T.-III SE screen, select “ENGINE”>>“Data List”>>“EVAP DIAG READY”.
  2. Let it idle until “OFF” of “EVAP DIAG READY” changes to “ON”.
    noteIt will take at most 2 hours until “OFF” of “EVAP DIAG READY” changes to “ON”.
  3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 90 minutes.
    noteNever turn ignition switch ON during 90 minutes.
  4. Turn ignition switch ON.
  5. On M.U.T.-III SE screen, select “ENGINE”>>“Data List”>>“EVAP LEAK DIAG”.
  6. Check that “EVAP LEAK DIAG” indication.

  1. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE again.

5.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-III
With M.U.T.-III SE
Check 1st trip DTC.
Is DTC P0451 detected?
Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
-1To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent IncidentIntermittent Incident.
-2Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END.
 
6.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-IV
With GST
  1. Start engine and let it idle for least 40 seconds.
    noteDo not depress accelerator pedal even slightly.
  2. Check 1st trip DTC.
Is DTC P0451 detected?
Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

7.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-V
With GST
  1. Let it idle for at least 2 hours.
  2. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 90 minutes.
    noteNever turn ignition switch ON during 90 minutes.
  3. Turn ignition switch ON.
  4. Check 1st trip DTC.
Is DTC P0451 detected?
Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
