Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK ENGINE OIL PRESSURE
With M.U.T.-III SE
  1. Turn ignition switch ON.
  2. Select “DATA MONITOR” mode of “ENGINE” using M.U.T.-III SE.
  3. Start the engine and check that “EOP SENSOR” changes, according to engine speeds.

Without M.U.T.-III SE
Check oil pressure. Refer to Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?

Check oil passage. Refer to Engine Lubrication System.
 
2.CHECK ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR POWER SUPPLY
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect engine oil pressure (EOP) sensor sensor harness connector.
  3. Turn ignition switch ON.
  4. Check the voltage between EOP sensor harness connector and ground.

3.CHECK ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
  3. Check the continuity between EOP sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.

  4. Also check harness for short to ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
Perform the trouble diagnosis for power supply circuit.
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
 
4.CHECK ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
  3. Check the continuity between EOP sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.

  4. Also check harness for short to ground.
Is the inspection result normal?

Repair or replace error-detected parts.
 
5.CHECK ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT
  1. Check the continuity between EOP sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.

  2. Also check harness for short to ground.
Is the inspection result normal?

Repair or replace error-detected parts.
 
6.CHECK ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR
Refer to Component Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent IncidentIntermittent Incident.
Replace engine oil pressure sensor.
