Hands OFF Warning Light
 
 
DESIGN/PURPOSE
The hands OFF warning light warns the driver that the steering wheel is not operated or the driver takes own hands Off the steering wheel for a period of time.
 
 
BULB CHECK
Hands OFF warning light turns ON after turning the ignition switch (engine stop).
 
 
SYNCHRONIZATION WITH MASTER WARNING LIGHT

OPERATION AT COMBINATION METER CAN COMMUNICATION CUT-OFF OR UNUSUAL SIGNAL

SIGNAL PATH
  • During steering support control, based on the steering torque signal received via CAN communication from the power steering control module, the ADAS control unit 2 detects operation of the steering wheel by the driver.
  • The ADAS control unit 2 transmits an hands OFF warning light signal to the combination meter via CAN communication when the steering wheel is not operated or the driver takes own hands Off the steering wheel for a period of time.
  • The combination meter turns ON the hands OFF warning light when receiving an hands OFF warning light signal.
 
 
LIGHTING CONDITION
The warning light turns ON when the steering wheel is not operated or the driver takes own hands Off the steering wheel for a period of time.
 
 
SHUTOFF CONDITION
The warning light turns OFF when the driver holds and operates the steering wheel again.
