Diagnosis conditionIgnition switch: ON
SignalIgnition switch signal
ThresholdIgnition switch signal (TCM #47 and #48 terminal) and ignition signal received from IPDM E/R do not match.
Diagnosis delay time1.5 seconds
 
 
POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • CAN communication error (U215B-87)
  • IPDM E/R
  • Harness or connectors
    [Ignition switch signal circuit (TCM #47 and #48 terminal) is shorted]
    [Ignition switch signal circuit (IPDM E/R #2 terminal) is open or shorted]
 
 
FAIL-SAFE
Automatic P position may be disabled
 
 
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.CHECK DTC PRIORITY
If DTC P18AB-00 is displayed with DTC U215B-87, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC U215B-87.
Is applicable DTC detected?
Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Description.

2.PRECONDITIONING
If “DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE” has been previously conducted, always ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.

3.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
  1. The ignition switch is ON and wait for at least 5 seconds.
  2. Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?
Go to Diagnosis Procedure.
