(Trouble diagnosis content)
DTC detection condition
P201500Intake manifold runner posi sen/sw B1
(Intake manifold runner position sensor / switch circuit range / performance bank 1)
Diagnosis conditionEngine running at idle
Signal (terminal)Intake manifold runner control valve position sensor signal
ThresholdECM receives malfunction signal sent form intake manifold runner control valve position sensor.
Diagnosis delay time5 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • Intake manifold runner control valve motor
  • Intake manifold runner control valve position sensor

FAIL-SAFE
Engine operating condition in fail-safe mode
Fail safe modeVehicle behavior
Device fix mode
  • This mode fixes the electric IVT motor and the EVT control solenoid valve in the reference position.
  • The intake manifold runner control valve motor is turned OFF (intake manifold runner control valve opens).
  • A control signals is not transmitted to EGR volume control valve and the EGR volume control is deactivated.

DTC Confirmation Procedure
1.PRECONDITIONING
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
  2. Turn ignition switch ON.
  3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
TESTING CONDITION:
Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 11 V at idle.

2.CHECK DTC PRIORITY
If DTC P2015 is displayed with DTC P06B0, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC P06B0.
Is applicable DTC detected?
Refer to DTC Description.

3.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
  1. Turn ignition switch ON.
  2. Warm up the engine to the normal operating temperature and keep the engine speed at idle for 10 seconds.
noteWarm up the engine until “COOLANT TEMP/S” on “DATA MONITOR” of M.U.T.-III SE reaches at least 60°C (140°F).
  3. Keep the engine speed 5,000 rpm for at least 10 seconds under no load.
  4. Check 1st trip DTC.
Is 1st trip DTC detected?
Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
-1To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent IncidentIntermittent Incident.
-2Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
